Birthday Memories!

22 Aug

Image

The Bubble Gum Playland Ball Pit. Which was one of the birthday boys favorite attractions at his party. It is a great idea for a 1-year old because they are just beginning to crawl and walk and move around. The balls add fun and comfort for them to move freely without hurting themselves. The tracks going around the ball pit was to the birthday boys own personal roller coaster that he got his first Christmas.

Two guests attending the birthday party! Who also helped out.

Several guests enjoying themselves at the party. The party was Elmo themed, so in the background there are Sesame Street friends Scene Setters posted on the gates. Balloon decorations and a giant sized basketball hoop for fun. Little kids are amazed to see things that are big and colorful.

Image

The Giant Water Slide. This was a main attraction for the older kids to have a good time at a 1 Year old party. It was fun for them and also for smaller children because it’s an inflatable and the water wasn’t excessive and overbearing. Fun for all with this water slide. This was a good idea!

Image

In this picture are some of our little guests making the most of the backyard little people furniture. Just the right size for the children to know that this event was for them. There is also a shot of the crawl through tunnels that they also enjoyed!

Image

The guests sitting enjoying cold slushees, courtesy of a party assistant. While one of our small guests are making good use of the bigger sized pools for the children. The party was designed so that all the attractions and activities were the right size for children to play at their own leisure. All ages. With little to no assistance.

Image

One of my favorites from the party! The Whale slide pool. Kids ages 1-2 enjoyed this the most. An Inflatable slide connected to a pool with just enough water to get wet and make a splash. I was lucky enough to catch some of these inflatables on sale. That’s always a plus!

Image

I love the shot of the decoration here. The balloons were in clusters of red, blue, green and yellow. To create the carnival theme look. In this photo, the birthday boy’s high chair was decorated with his favorite character, balloons and his own personal dishes and snacks. This is cute!

Image

What would I have done without these four! These were the party’s clown assistants, and they did an incredible job. From the beginning to the end. They also looked great! It was fun picking out their outfits.

Little guests enjoying the slushees at the party, while taking a break from the activities. Our parents had a good time too. The music included, Barney the Dinosaur, The Backyardigans and other children’s music for the entire party. The menu was both to the parents and children’s liking. We served: Spaghetti, Chicken, Pizza, Pigs in the Blanket, Popcorn, Juice, and Slushees to name some of it.

A small guest, a cousin of the birthday boy. Sitting warming up after his slushee and playing in the water. The weather was nice for the day as well.

Image

Another attendee enjoying the slushees. They were a big hit! There was no limit to how many the children could have and they took advantage of this opportunity!

Image

Some of the guests turned assistant, operating the popcorn popper. What’s a carnival themed party without the popcorn popper for fresh popcorn?

Image

A closer shot of the Old Fashioned Popcorn Maker. And yes, the popcorn was as good as it looks!

Image

One of the clown assistants for the party video recording the event. Along with photographed memories, there is also video to watch and remember as well. Perfect!

Image

One of the games at the party, “Pin the Nose on Elmo” there were also games like bowling, the bozo pail game, musical chairs, and face painting. When the birthday boy wasn’t partying he was relaxing in his backyard swing built especially for him.

Image

The Birthday Cake courtesy of Ace Bakeries. Elmo and Carnival color themed. I loved this cake. I gave them the concept of how I wanted it and they did beyond what was expected. This was a great job. The cake is yellow with half butter cream and half strawberry filling. The writing on the cake says it all!

Image

A shot of the birthday boy sitting waiting attentively with his spoon in his hand to sing happy birthday and get the first piece of cake. His bib matches the theme of the party and says “1st Birthday” How cute!

Image

A shot of the clown assistants helping out with the birthday boy and getting ready to serve ice cream and cake to the other guests!

Image

A shot of the cake from a different angle, and the two flavors of ice cream that were available to the guests selection. The one candle is in celebration of the 1st birthday, for the first year of life. Very special!

Image

The birthday boy with his giant piece of cake. Of course he gets the 1st piece! And it looks like he knows just what to do with his spoon.

Image

After the ice cream and cake, the birthday boy opened all of his gifts, which were too many to name. Many were of his favorite TV character Elmo and other gifts as well. This celebration was special for a special boy. It was his 1st birthday, which was his golden birthday. Happy Birthday Caleb & many many many more to come!

The birthday cake after the first piece was given to the birthday boy on his special day!

Image

The Bubble gum playland, Ball Pit. This was perfect to highlight the theme and setting of the party ;The colors and the enjoyment of the attraction. All kids love ball pits! The birthday boy enjoyed this as a favorite of his party.

Image

Here’s the birthday boy enjoying the whale slide pool while holding the water hose in the pool to fill it up. He has always enjoyed water. Even before he was born. In the pool were inflatable fish and beach balls for added enjoyment!

Image

A shot of the birthday boy and his mom, me, in an inflatable, floating around in the pool. A great celebration for an incredible boy. If anyone thought this party was too much for a 1-year old, then it wasn’t quite enough for this one!
Birthday Memories, and the best ones are still to come!

Exercise is of Some Value

22 Aug

No matter what you are doing or what stage of health you may or may not be in, physical fitness changes the way you feel.

Start walking if necessary, the more that you do, the more that your body will suggest to you that you can do more. The pace with your walking will increase and eventually you’ll find yourself running.

Running is a sure way to give your whole body a workout. The good thing about it is that you set the pace.

If you need some assistance, join a gym or attend workout classes to get you started. I encourage you to learn as much as you can if you do, so that you’re working out when you’re at home as well.

Find what works and do what you need to, to get you started to make a move. Just don’t make excuses!

What Are You Reading?

There are at least two books that have my attention right now. One is right off the shelf of my very own book collection and the other available at your local library.

“Seven Soulful Secrets For Finding Your Purpose & Minding Your Mission” is a book that I’ve owned for years. After browsing through a bookstore I ran across this well-written book for women outlining steps to help you achieve a better you. In turn, leading you in the direction of finding your purpose.

I love books! And so does my son Caleb.

Many books have come and gone from my personal library, but this one remains. I never get tired of it and can refer to it no matter where I am in life.

The second, “The Midas Touch” by entrepreneurs Donald Trump & Robert T. Kiyosaki, was a book I borrowed out from the library, after being drawn in by the title. I am always interested in hearing how people use their knowledge to build businesses and make billions from it. If the information is available, why not, you’ll never know what could inspire and work for you as well.

Two very good reads for me so far!

Happy Birthday To Me

5 Aug

Today is my birthday and reflection throughout the past few days has given me new gift in memories connected to my life today.

This year last month marked the 3rd year of my son’s salvation date. His coming to Christ at his own will. I love that God did that for him. I also feel very blessed and humbled to know He could use me for such a purpose. What can’t I ask God for? I haven’t found anything yet. When he saved my son after I asked him, I knew for sure then that He could hear me.

I have this thing about numbers and special dates. One including my birthday. 7 years ago, I had a baby shower for my son on this very day. Thinking back, he was due a month later at the same time, so I thought it was the perfect day.

The irony in that is he was born 4 days earlier than the expected date. But the way things happened lead me to have the baby shower for him on my birthday. Today, I see that my life is revolved around him and whenever I feel pressured to do something other than give all of myself to raising him, I usually find that I am  fighting well, ME! My heart is dedicated to him and I know that’s the case for all mothers with their children,  as it very well should be . So I find it necessary to be reminded that there’s nothing wrong with that!!!

Moving on to the next level of life & growth, I can embrace this reality and work out everything else around it.

There’s a difference in getting older and growing older.
Happy Birthday to me!

Singing:” I’m having a private party, wasn’t nobody here, but me, my Angel and his guitar saying ‘mommy look how far we’ve come.’ “
In case you were wondering why you didn’t get an invitation. 🙂
